I want to thank you for reading my blog.
Among other things, it serves as a mechanism for helping me to write my next book.
When I established a nonprofit to help women in transition, I knew that I was consciously taking my life into an entirely new direction. Through its dissolution, I learned even more lessons that I’ll be incorporating into my next book. There are lessons learned from failure that were extremely beneficial to me when viewed in hindsight, even as they were excruciatingly painful at the time I experienced them.
What I didn’t know (and couldn’t anticipate) was the meandering path I would take during the years between the founding to the failure of the organization. As an example, you may be familiar with the meme of the two “arrow” versions of SUCCESS that are floating around the internet — one is a straight horizontal that sweeps directly from a left to right angle in an upward motion. Positioned next to it is a squiggly mess of a line that resembles a ball of twine that has recently been mangled by a kitten with the words “what it really looks like” written underneath.
Along the way, I definitely had my share of sleepless nights, booger-filled “ugly cry” meltdowns and weeks where I ate plenty of beans and rice. …Lots of detours and messiness.
Real talk: the SUCCESS arrow is NEVER a straight line. That said, you can minimize the kitten wrangling squiggles when you begin your journey with intention and focus. If you’ve heard me speak at a conference, you’ll know that I refer to my journey as a sacred alchemy. When we can take our struggles and transform them into blessings for others, we have succeeded (at any level). Some call these “blessons.” Helping other people avoid my mistakes is a pattern you can see reflected in my own life path.
Thank you again for being a part of my journey. I appreciate you.
